Anyone out there who has been struggling to get your kids on board for Jesus? Don't give up! Give it to Him after prayer! Work with Him together to help bring change in your kids. I tell you it will happen! Coming from a mom who was so wondering, who is still praying, and who just witnessed an amazing switch in my kiddos.
He really won't let one of His kids get lost, not one. He will leave the 99 for the 1.
My daughter recently went to a group that the Lord pointed me to through a series of events. My car was getting stuck in the snow a lot around that time. I went down the road to a park to park haha the car to overnight camp during my winter camping excursion. How I was in a car for winter, is another story, but i I had gotten stuck between the road and the parking lot, the parking lot was not plowed, and I went out to shovel out with a brush/scraper around the car tires but I was not able to get out. The roads name: Lovers Lane Rd. So not really necessarily a road I want to get out of, but I didn't want to be stuck between the road and the parking lot. So I sat in my car and prayed.
I prayed for whatever was gonna get me out, a shovel, a plow, I made 1 phone call to a sister in Christ before just asking God for the solution. The person was not able to come out. But God had another plan. As I sat there a bit, I fell asleep because it was later in the evening about 10ish. And I woke up to this knock on my window and a flashlight. It was a police officer, 1 of the Chester town police officers, the rarity of him finding me was like nill, the police don't make rounds down that road much in the winter at all, had been my experience, but that night a Huge Blessing, because I don't know how long I would have been out there. But God is Faithful and delivers every time. You just ask and He delivers. Sometimes you got to wait an hour, sometimes a few minutes, sometimes a bit longer, but He delivers!
So back to the car getting unstuck, this reminds me of the story 'My Truck is Stuck' but remembering that story so many helped the Truck to get unstuck.
I know I've got a firm foundation I prayed for help. Yay!! It was just about waiting a bit. So this police officer he says he is going to go get a shovel after he has me start my vehicle and try to go back and forth a bit to get out of the spot and back out into the road 'lovers lane rd', ok, well after doing that the car was still there, so he said he would go get the shovel and would be back. So I had to trust that he would do just that, go back to headquarters and get a shovel and be back. I waited, and in 20 mins maybe 15 mins, he was back with the shovel, and dug out all the tires, and there wasn't a lot of snow at all, the tires were just being weird. It's not a regular car either, it's a SUV, so a bigger car.
After he shoveled, he had me turn on the engine and had me straighten out the front tires, and had me work it forward to back, eventually with going back onto lovers lane rd, and a push from him I got back on the road. Then I waited. Free, the car is Free again!!! He talked with me about where to park. And said that He doesn't really turn on this road, but tonight he felt this nudge to do so. He also said he too was a believer in Jesus Christ, after I told him God brought me through the winter as I had been winter camping, (again kind of a long story), and he said that he didn't think it was by coincidence and that God has a way of bringing people together to meet for a reason. I agree. Then once he got me to the baptist church parking lot, which was the one that was plowed, he shared that I could park in the other church parking lot but that it was not plowed yet that night. He shared with me about a bible study on Monday nights that he attends, at the time I worked a shift DJing from 7-9pm for a Christian radio station, and said I wasn't sure if I could make it but I would try.
Having a freshly plowed parking lot to park in, a quiet spot, and with just a little snow coming down, I felt better, I felt well taken care of, I called on God, and He came running or skipping, or walking, but He took care of it. I only needed to call on Him, pray and ask for a solution, and He sent someone out there to help me.
Next upcoming Monday, I made arrangements to move my schedule at the radio station around so I could come on later than 7pm and go to this new bible study I was invited to by the police officer that had removed my car from the parking lot to the road. So I could go. I made the drive to get there about 2 mins from where I was parked in town, I parked in the parking lot of the church, not the baptist church, another one in town. And I basically told fear/worry to stop, which ran its rant, about what ifs...the kinds you don't listen to, and the best way to stop it, was to pray 2 Timothy 1:7 For the Lord has not given me a spirit of fear but of Power, Love, and a Sound Mind. (recommend 2 Timothy 1:6-10) Perfect Love Is Who God And addition stepped out of the car and went inside (because prayer is action), which I did. Yay! Met a lot of families, saw kids running around coloring on paper on the table, and having fun! These sons and daughters had brought food and shared amongst the group, we ate first, I met moms and were introduced to kids. It was a good experience, loved seeing all the kids.
Eventually I dropped my shift DJing on Monday nights and went regularly, I liked it so much! And wanted to take my daughter there eventually but didn't know when. Went to an intercessory prayer night at the other church building I attend a lot, and the pastor's wife there said, well would Eva like to come to this event you go to on Mondays? And at first I went to make some excuses as to say umm, yeah I don't know....but then stopped and said, Yeah! I would, He can! And so we prayed that. And I started to reach out to the X and his wife about bringing her to this Friday event I had been doing, and the Monday event I was attending. And first week it didn't happen, but the second week it did! And she had a wonderful fun time!! So much so that she went overtime to half hour passed the time we usually leave. She couldn't wait for the next time! And said to me in the parking lot, well mom you were right about something, I did like it!
So now every Monday I go, she is attending with me!! Gosh Only God could have orchestrated such a thing!
What is interesting is I had prayed for a group that would work for her months and months prior, I had been searching for a group for her. And to be led to this one was great!!! A real answer to a prayer that was asked about over a year ago! Thanks God!! :) A Good Good Father who cares!
